Unable to connect to a CRM organization

 

Unable to connect to a CRM organization with the plugin registration tool

While trying to connect to my organization using the Plugin Registration Tool I kept getting the following error:


And the details are these:


Tried to connect to D365 using Plugin Registration tools none of the Registration tools are working.

Solution: 

Go to Plugin Registration tool Logs at the following directory:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics© CRM Plug-in Registration Tool

When I opened the latest log I noticed the following on the logs:

Microsoft.Xrm.Tooling.CrmConnectControl    Error    2    1/25/2020 12:32:02 AM  Error Message: LoadConfigFromFile() - Except - fail
Source    : System.Configuration

Date    : 1/25/2020
Time    : 12:32:02 AM
Error    : An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path 'C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\PluginRegistration\Default_PluginRegistration.exe.config' is denied. (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\PluginRegistration\Default_PluginRegistration.exe.config)

So I went to the following directory:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\PluginRegistration

and deleted the files that were there, these files are created by the Registration tool.

Default_PluginRegistration and

Default_PluginRegistration.exe

Once these files were deleted I closed and reopened the Plugin Registration Tool and it connected successfully.

Note: Apparently, these files were corrupted. So deleting corrupted files will work.
